We would like to invite you to the Fifth International Scientific Conference on Bioaerosols in Indoor Environments and Work!

Since our first meeting in the early ‘90s, the body of knowledge regarding indoor and occupational microbial exposure (fungi, bacteria and their by-products) and diseases with important public health implications has grown significantly. Diseases such as allergy, asthma, inflammatory lung diseases, infections, and cases of mycotoxicosis and neurological or vascular disorders have been associated with exposure to bioaerosols. However, the limited number of recognized biological agents, their often complex interactions and adverse human health reaction pose great challenges to investigators, clinicians and public health officials.

Inadequate building or ventilation design and maintenance, the adaptation of certain building materials and designs to areas with different climate and economical resources, and other factors appear to contribute to increased microbial indoor exposure. All this has raised international concern about the impact of bioaerosols on the building occupants and workers’ health.

The conference will address state of art research and practical experience to improve the understanding of microbials, determine important agents and adverse human health effects, and the treatment, control and prevention of exposure. Knowledge gabs and research priorities will be discussed.

This scientific meeting will connect internationally recognized researchers and leading investigators with “front line” practitioners and consultants addressing “real world” IEQ problems. The specific conference program topics are listed at the conference themes.
